Rheine Nature Zoo

Rheine

With around 1,000 animals from 100 different species, the nature zoo offers an impressive variety. You can get particularly close to the animals in the walk-through enclosures. In the stork reserve you will find storks and wading birds in ideal living conditions. In the monkey forest, you have the opportunity to make direct contact with the curious inhabitants, and you can even observe the seals under water - an unforgettable experience!

The new bear enclosure is another highlight: sloth bears and golden jackals share a spacious home here. You can also observe kangaroos, llamas and pampas rabbits in their natural environment in the extensive meadow enclosure.

Rheine Nature Zoo is more than just a place to observe animals - it is a place to learn, be amazed and encounter nature. Perfect for family outings or a relaxing day in the countryside.

You will look in vain for elephants, tigers and giraffes in Bielefeld's only zoo. Instead, you will come across chamois and marmots, lynxes and wolves. The animal inhabitants of the Olderdissen Zoo are all from Germany. Or as they say in East Westphalia: "are from here". Nevertheless, some of the birds may seem strange to you.
