Why is the all-weather zoo actually called an "all-weather zoo"? It's simple: Münster Zoo is equipped with a clever, partially covered network of paths. Over 1 kilometer of the circular path is covered so that you can observe many of the fascinating animals without getting wet, even in rain or snow. In the cold winter months, 95% of the zoo's inhabitants remain visible to visitors - a real highlight for any visit to the zoo!
The zoo's special attractions include the impressive enclosures of Amur tigers, Persian leopards, gorillas and orangutans. And best of all, the all-weather zoo takes the motto "Encounter diversity, experience great things" literally. You can feed elephants at normal times or accompany the spectacled penguins on their charming march through the zoo - an unforgettable experience for young and old.
And that's not all! The zoo in the cathedral city of Münster is also known throughout Germany for its special closeness to the animals. Where else in Münsterland can you experience elephants up close or accompany penguins on a walk? In addition to around 3,000 animals from over 300 species, the zoo also offers other unique attractions. Visit the Westphalian Horse Museum in the middle of the zoo or be amazed by the impressive performances of the Californian sea lions in the Robbenhaven.
