The Institute for Biomechanics in Bad Sassendorf makes movement visible and tangible. The Institute is integrated into the Lindenplatz Clinic, a leading orthopaedic rehabilitation clinic with a sports medicine department.
Dr. Christoph Schönle, a specialist in orthopaedics, physical and rehabilitative medicine, sports medicine, chirotherapy, social medicine and osteopathy (L1), is the head physician at Klinik Lindenplatz.
The close integration of the institute and rehabilitation clinic is unique in Germany and has proven itself in practice many times over.
The results of the examinations at the Institute of Biomechanics are used to optimize individual therapy for around 600 rehabilitation patients every year. To date, the Institute has carried out movement analyses for around 4,000 people - rehab patients, amateur athletes and top athletes. Head of the Institute of Biomechanics is Prof. Dr. Thomas Jöllenbeck, sports and movement scientist, associate professor at the University of Paderborn, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Department of Sport and Health. His work focuses on diagnostics, research and development in the field of orthopaedic-traumatological prevention and rehabilitation. The research results flow directly into practice.
Based on the examination results, individual recommendations for the therapy of patients and the training of athletes can be derived in cooperation with highly qualified doctors and experienced trainers (qualified sports instructors and physiotherapists). The brine and mud spa Bad Sassendorf is located on the northern edge of the Sauerland. The town can look back on over 100 years of tradition as a health resort and offers a wide range of (health) tourism activities.
