The cross-border loop hiking trail through the Elsofftal valley is almost 44 km long.
The pentagonal way-markers lead through the Wittgenstein villages of Elsoff, Christianseck, Diedenshausen and Alertshausen and the Hessian village of Neuludwigsdorf.
The red kite, bird of the year 2002, soars above everything that connects the two federal states.
The loop trail at altitudes of 380 to 675 metres offers lush natural surroundings with magnificent views of the Wittgensteiner Land and the Ederbergland. There is great diversity along this route and numerous options for walking the trail.
It’s not just discerning hikers who get their money’s worth here but also cyclists. Parts of the route over the hills are particularly suitable for families with pushchairs and for wheelchair and walking frame users.
There are ten signposted access roads that can be used for tours of various lengths. Experience an interesting “border experience” with an impressive long-distance view!
