From Bad Salzuflen to Düsseldorf
Bad Salzuflen
A new hotel is being built in the centre of Bad Salzuflen. The historic property of the former Fürstenhof has been sold to the Eggersmann Group from Marienfeld. The construction company is planning a modern four-star superior hotel with around 140 double rooms and up to eight flats. The future Fürstenhof is scheduled to reopen in autumn 2027.
Bielefeld
The Steigenberger Hotel Bielefelder Hof reopened with a big celebration on 24 November. 100 of the 161 rooms have been freshly renovated. A twelve metre high light construction is the highlight of the new lobby, which can also be used as a co-working space. Twelve rooms for up to 200 people are available for conferences.
In 2025, an apartment block with a total of 223 flats will open at Bielefeld's main railway station. Many of them will have their own kitchenette and can be rented for a day, a weekend or even longer.
Düsseldorf
A subsidiary of Premier Inn Holding has purchased a 1,333 square metre plot of land at Schiessstrasse 45a in Düsseldorf-Heerdt. A Premier Inn hotel with 124 rooms is to be built here. There will be 50 parking spaces available for hotel guests in the neighbouring multi-storey car park.
A six-storey hotel building with 80 rooms, a restaurant and conference rooms is planned in the Oberkassel district, adjacent to the residential development on Heerdter Sandberg. The target group is business travellers. The planned golden façade will give the building a special look.
The Dorint Hotel Group will be located in the new Deiker Höfe in Düsseldorf, close to the trade fair centre. The 137-room hotel with conference and event rooms will be built on the corner of Am Hain. The opening of the Deiker Höfe is planned for the beginning of 2025.
Ipartment, a provider of business long-stay flats, has secured a new property in Düsseldorf's Oberkassel district, which is now being prepared for future use. A total of 105 serviced flats are set to open by the beginning of 2026.
From Hattingen to Leverkusen
Hattingen
A new urban quarter with a new hotel with 100 rooms on eight floors is being built on the brownfield site of a former industrial area adjacent to Hattingen's old town. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025.
Cologne
The operating company D-Quadrat Living is planning to open the second flat block under the "Das Schlafwerk" brand in Cologne in summer 2025, following its premiere in Stuttgart. With the long-stay concept, the brand wants to attract teams of craftsmen, families and backpackers as customers. A typical Schlafwerk has 300 beds spread over four floors.
Ipartment, a provider of serviced flats, is planning to launch flats at two locations in Cologne: 178 units are to be built on the Cologneo campus next to the trade fair centre by autumn 2026, with a further 31 units to be completed opposite the opera house by the first quarter of 2025.
Leverkusen
Housing provider Ipartment is planning to build 32 long-term flats in the former boiler house on the former railway site at Grünes Kreuz in Leverkusen. The "industrial charm" of the brick building, which was erected in 1948, is to be preserved.
From Mönchengladbach to Sonsbeck
Mönchengladbach
A private investor is planning to build a new hotel complex in Mönchengladbach over the next five years. This is to be built between Hindenburgstraße and Lambertsstraße and will have around 140 hotel beds as well as a rooftop bar with an outdoor area on the top floor. The planned hotel, with its entrance on Hindenburgstrasse, will extend over floors two to five of a total of five storeys.
Neheim im Sauerland
The planned B&B hotel in Neheim im Sauerland is taking shape seven months after the ground-breaking ceremony. The shell of the building is now complete, with plumbing, electrical and heating installations and drywall work to follow. Once completed in late summer 2025, the bed and breakfast hotel will offer 82 rooms with a breakfast area, terrace and parking facilities over an area of 900 square metres.
Solingen
The former tax office in Solingen-Ohligs is being converted into a hotel with 75 rooms. A 20-year lease agreement has been signed with B&B Hotels. The opening is planned for 2025.
Sonsbeck
The owners of the Hochwald estate in Sonsbeck, near the Dutch border, want to build a three-storey eco-wellness hotel on 900 square metres in the Labbeck district. The building will be constructed according to ecological principles and the energy will be generated from renewable sources. The amenities for guests include wellness facilities, a spa, yoga rooms, a roof terrace and a heated outdoor pool. Construction work is due to be completed by 2026.
