Time tunnel Wülfrath

Wülfrath

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the geological eras! At interactive stations and through impressive film clips, you will learn all about the shifting of the continents, the dinosaurs and the first humans. Numerous fossils and historical objects take you back in time - live and in color! Visitors to the exhibition encounter dinosaurs as they walk through the tunnel, meet the first humans and learn a lot about the climate and continental drift in an entertaining way.

But it's not just the history of the earth that comes to life here. The industrial history of Wülfrath lime mining is also vividly presented. A special highlight is the virtual reality tour through the 80-meter-long protective bunker. With 3D glasses, you can experience a photorealistic eyewitness tour through the tunnel and the bunker in 1942.

You can walk around the Schlupkothen quarry on the nature and industrial history trail and enjoy spectacular views. A pleasant side effect on hot days: it is always cool in the tunnel, which is part of a disused limestone quarry.
