Visitors are left breathless by fascinating astronomy shows. Thousands of stars whizz past them. They can explore space for themselves at the Bochum Planetarium, without any astronaut training, rockets or space suits. State-of-the-art technology makes a trip into space possible for everyone.
The view of the clear sky is breathtaking. The large car shines above the heads of the stargazers. A huge asteroid floats past the edge of the dome, where a space station can also be seen. One of the most modern projection systems in the world shows distant stars and planets. They shine brightly in the artificial darkness of the Bochum Planetarium.
260 seats offer space for extended star journeys. The Universarium IX projector simulates trips into space from anywhere on earth. Time is also irrelevant for the starting point of the flight. The expedition begins when the new space pilots are ready.
Science meets entertainment
Cosmic connections can be clearly explained during exploration tours through space. An expert reports on the Milky Way, celestial bodies, distant galaxies and stars. Science meets entertainment. A thirst for research and a cinematic atmosphere are skillfully combined in the projection room. The 600 square meter projection screen makes it possible. Bright day turns into dark night in just a few seconds.
Events and lectures such as "From the Big Bang to Man", "The Wonders of the Cosmos" or "Black Holes" invite visitors under the large domed roof every day. Live tours through the universe, astronomy and music shows await guests on a regular basis. The "Magnificent Universe" exhibition takes visitors on a journey to the wonders of the cosmos with 50 large-format images.
