Freilichtmuseum Lindlar (open air museum)

Lindlar

Idyllically nestled in hilly meadows and fields, you will find original mountain houses, dismantled in their original location and lovingly rebuilt in the open-air museum.
Whether it's a farm, ropemaker's workshop or blacksmith's shop - you can watch or help out everywhere. And in between, take a relaxing walk through the beautiful countryside. Watch a farmer working the field with a plough - just like in the old days - or sit down on the grass for a picnic.
The museum restaurant "Lingenbacher Hof" also offers traditional and regional dishes in a cozy atmosphere and a great beer garden.

There's something going on at the LVR Open-Air Museum Lindlar all year round. In addition to numerous events, the following program offers await you in the areas of crafts, everyday life in the mountains, nature, animals and creativity.

  • Museum hostel at Gut Dahl
  • Children's birthday parties
  • Company outings
  • Museum play
  • Ecological seminars

A BELKAW charging station for e-bikes is also available.
