Tetrahedron: Ascent to a special excursion destination

Bottrop

This landmark, visible from afar, also offers a panoramic view: Anyone who has climbed the slag heap plateau and the tetrahedron will be rewarded with a sweeping view over the central Ruhr area and the Emscher region, which also gives the site its official name: Haldenereignis Emscherblick. On a clear day, you can even see as far as the state capital Düsseldorf.

The geometric work of art itself consists of swinging stairs and steel pipes connected by steel cables. The "Tetraeder Treppenlauf", which takes place once a year, is a special challenge that involves conquering the Tetraeder in races with different levels of difficulty. Otherwise, the three platforms within the pyramid are very quiet. It only rocks a little up here in strong winds.
