Loud stork chattering. Three young birds sit in the nest and are fed by their parents. Bislich, the village near Wesel on the Lower Rhine, with its damp meadows, dredging holes and ponds, is a particularly attractive habitat for storks. There are numerous stork nests along the 14-kilometre-long stork route. Many of them are occupied during the breeding season from April to August. Two pairs of storks even live here all year round in their large nests.
Orchards, a local history museum, cafés and a ferry house on the Rhine - the barrier-free circular tour, which can be experienced on foot or by bike, not only offers stork watching, but also many other highlights along the way.
