You can pick up the pace hereChasing records on a racing bike

You can set the next speed record in many places in your NRW. Whether over wide, flat stretches, such as in Münsterland or the Nürburgring in the Eifel, or more sporty routes over the ups and downs of the Teutoburg Forest or in the Sauerland - there is something for every type of racing cyclist. But beware: when you're feeling all that speedy happiness, lift your head from time to time, because there are highlights to the right and left of the route that are worth taking short or longer breaks for.

Setting recordsSauerland

On your marks, get set, go! The aim here is to set the fastest time: The StoppOmat near Rönkhausen measures your time and lets you compete virtually or directly with others for the fastest time. Over 4.5 kilometres with 250 metres of elevation gain, you can see who has the most stamina. To do this, you draw a stamp card, cycle the route and put the card back in the machine at the finish. The time is then taken - and the result is then published on the Internet. But of course there are many more routes waiting for you and your racing bike.

Through the BergischAround Cologne

The annual cycling classic "Rund um Köln", which runs largely through the Bergisches Land region, is proof of this: The region is ideal for racing bike tours. Away from the main traffic routes, winding, sometimes narrow roads lead over mountains and through valleys - and offer you sporting pleasure and beautiful scenic experiences. The "Tour de Reichshof", for example, tests your fitness on its 50 kilometres with over 1000 metres of elevation gain, but also rewards you with beautiful views that extend as far as the Siebengebirge on clear days.

Cycling around the NürburgringEifel

Even though the legendary Grand Prix circuit is primarily world-famous for motorised races, you can also ride your racing bike around the circuit. Whether test track or tour, off-road or on-road: The Radarena am Ring offers digital overview maps, detailed information and gpx data. A total of over 1,500 kilometres have been compiled for your next race and also prepared as road books and GPS tracks. The Nürburgring itself can be circumnavigated at certain sporting events such as Rad am Ring and Circuit Cycling as well as on certain evening dates.

Highs & lowsTeutoburg Forest

The Teutoburg Forest also fulfils your sporting requirements, while at the same time promising relaxation for your mind: The mountains and valleys of the low mountain range region are criss-crossed by small, remote roads on which you can give your all in terms of sport, but which also give you many wonderful moments. The Lippe avenue road, for example, offers you a total of around 1500 metres in altitude with many small climbs, garnished with historic town centres and idyllic landscapes.

Drive at speedMünsterland

Mountains are not a prerequisite for sporty cycling, as the Münsterland proves. Once a year, you can take part in the RennFietsen Tour Münsterland and not only compete with other participants over four days of 150 kilometres each, but also do a good deed. Every kilometre you cycle will be donated to a good cause. A total of around 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths are signposted and mostly flat, but not boring. Castles, fortresses, farms and the vast parkland make sure of that.
