A network that shines like a hidden star in the art sky unfolds in the exhibition ‘Five Friends’ with a subtlety and depth that reveals unexplored dimensions of post-war art. This impressive interplay stages the encounters between John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Cy Twombly and reveals a network that navigated beyond traditional artistic paths and was at the same time deeply rooted in the conventions and challenges of the time.
The exhibition can be seen from 3 October 2025 to 11 January 2026 at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
