Borchen Advent market

This year, the Advent market invites you to take a pre-Christmas stroll from December 1 - 3, 2023. The Borchen Advent market is known and loved far beyond the district borders for its exceptionally cozy, almost familiar atmosphere.
Over 80 exhibitors are expected at this year's Advent market with jewelry, woodwork and ceramics, hand-forged items and arts and crafts, Christmas decorations, children's fashions, woodturning, floristry, art from the Ore Mountains, Tiffany glass art and much more. While the many almost exclusively handmade items in the stalls give the Advent market its special charm, its culinary elements make it unmistakable. The aromas of mulled wine and eggnog compete with the smells of freshly baked waffles, roast potatoes, steaks, grated cookies, game goulash - in short, everything your heart desires, from sweet to savory, can be found in the food stalls, which are run exclusively by Borchen clubs and groups. Borchen's two twin towns, Schwarzenberg and Am Mellensee, will also be represented with a stand at the market.

A varied stage and supporting program of Borchen clubs, schools and kindergartens provides entertainment around the Advent market. This program concludes with a highlight on each evening of the event. On Friday, 01 December, 8.30 pm, the group Goodbeats will close the evening program; on Saturday, 02 December, NORAINUNTILMONDAY will once again get the audience in the mood.
On Sunday, 3 December at 4.30 pm, all children can look forward to the join-in and anniversary program with Mr. H. With his songs and stories, he will get the children - and no doubt some adults too - in the mood for the most exciting time of the year. Listening and joining in are the order of the day with this program.

Afterwards, the hunting horns of the Borchen hunting association will sound, opening the gift-giving ceremony with the Advent market angel, which begins at 6.00 pm.
