Bowling alleys are a thing of the past. If the team is united and looking for a sporting challenge, the adrenalin level can rise a little after work. So get out of the office and into an adventure together. Climbing on the "Steelroad" or house running, a rafting tour or stand-up paddling guarantee excitement - and team spirit is required. Disused blast furnaces and former granaries in the Ruhr and Rhineland provide the backdrop for exciting indoor and outdoor activities where no one is left to their own devices. But rivers such as the Erft and Wupper, Weser, Rhine and Lippe also do their best to ensure that the excursion doesn't get too dry.
STEEL EXPEDITION
Anyone embarking on the "Steel Expedition" in a former casting hall in the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park should definitely be free from giddiness. Where once the workers toiled, the teams now climb over a course up to the ceiling of the hall. The "Steelroad" then awaits outside. At dizzying heights, the teams climb a narrow ladder from one blast furnace to the next. Anyone who still has eyes for the landscape during this shaky affair: From up here, the view over the Ruhr region is unrivalled. You then return to the ground via an abseil.

HOUSE RUNNING
At lofty heights, the power to overcome plays a decisive role. House running in Brühl near Cologne takes you up the wall of a former 50 metre high granary on the world's highest urban via ferrata. If that's not enough of an adrenaline rush for you, you can run vertically down the wall of the building or try your hand at Skyfall. Let's see who gets back to the ground faster.

CLIMBING PARK DETMOLD
The six courses of varying difficulty in the climbing park below the Hermann monument near Detmold reach up to 14 metres high. More than 80 stations await climbers in the small wooded area. On a few days a year, you can even climb into the head of Hermann himself. However, if you suffer from claustrophobia or a fear of heights, it is better to skip the climb inside the statue.

RAFTING ON THE RHINE
A rafting tour on the Rhine is a fun and humid way to spend a company outing. Where the tour should go - whether romantically along the Siebengebirge with a view of the Drachenfels, from the sandy beach in Rodenkirchen to the Cologne skyline or past the Bayer plants in Leverkusen to the Rhine meadows in Zons - is best decided by the majority in this case.

KAYAK AND CANOE TRIPS
Canoe and kayak tours on the Erft, for example, are a little more relaxed than a rafting tour, but still a sporting challenge. On a multi-day tour, you have the option of sleeping in a bivouac in the open air and starting the new day together with a kayak breakfast.

On the Wupper, the office canoeists are accompanied by Thomas Becker, a world champion and Olympic bronze medallist in white water kayaking. The tour here runs through the river and cultural landscape of the Bergisches Land region.

The rivers Bega, Werre, Weser and Lippe between the Weserbergland, Wiehengebirge and Teutoburg Forest also offer particularly nature-loving team events. In addition to canoe tours, orienteering with compass and map and a campfire dinner are also on offer.
