This unusual building, erected between 1882 and 1884 for the Bonn innkeeper's son Stephan von Sarter, is one of the most important palace buildings of the late 19th century in Germany.

Founded in 1820, the museum presents its collection with impressive cultural highlights of the Rhineland and its inhabitants: Neanderthals, Celts, Romans, Franks...
